Due to some irresponsible behavior and inhumane activities, our natural Earth is getting depleted day by day and so are the natural resources. The drinking water resources are limited due to the dumping of solid and liquid household wastes along with chemical wastes from industries, and pesticides and fertilizers from farming lands. These waste materials and heavy metals mix with the water and make it harmful to use as well as to consume. Moreover, untreated water may lead to several water-borne diseases like diarrhea, cholera, typhoid, hepatitis B, gastrointestinal disorders, etc. Among all the wastes, plastic wastes are the toxic ones. The first initiative taken by Bisleri is to reduce plastic wastes by recycling the disposed or used water bottles. A mineral water bottle price can be lower for you, but the effect on nature due to the plastic container is huge.
This step has brought bread to several homes and most importantly has involved several people working together in making a better Earth for survival. Bisleri has reached out to various educational institutions to dictate the requirements of plastic recycling. The company has partnered with three non-governmental organizations in Mumbai to conduct a more effective procedure. The used plastic bottles are collected and crushed, sold to recyclers, and are converted into flakes that are further used in creating non-edible products like handbags, cotton fabric, etc. The second initiative taken by Bisleri is launching a Rainwater harvesting project. Water being the scarcest natural resource, needs to be protected rather than wasting. The water levels in India rise during monsoons and are lost into seas being untreated or used. The rainwater harvesting project by Bisleri has been named "Project Nayi Ummeed". This project aims at harvesting the rainwater and restoring check dams. These dams help to store the surface water that can be further reused or recharge the groundwater levels. Rainwater harvesting ensures sufficient water for irrigation in villages. The first check dam project was launched in 2001 at village Bara in Kutch by Bisleri International Pvt. Ld. This initiative has helped in increasing the water level for use in various cultivation lands and has turned barren lands into fertile farms. The third sustainable initiative taken by Bisleri is promoting the concept of Ozone Therapy as an alternative or complementary branch of high-cost medicines. Several hospitals have performed in this program serving a huge mass with low-cost therapy instead of prescribing high priced medicines. Moreover, there is a zero side effect of this ozone therapy. All these initiatives taken by Bisleri have not aimed at improving the condition of the Earth but also have reached working opportunities for several families. The brand also ensures a healthy upbringing for the worker's children. Besides this, the drinking water packaged undergoes a 114 quality testing process and ten-step processing. A mineral water bottle price can be a little higher at Bisleri's website but it has one of the highest TDS and is a tested brand. Not only the product is considered but also a great emphasis has been bestowed upon the empty containers before packing. The final product gets tested at the government-approved labs, therefore the chances of plastic toxicity in humans is the least. Moreover, they select a process of ozonisation over chlorination at the first and the last stage of processing to remove all the harmful and unwanted particles. They also focused on adding some important minerals like potassium and magnesium compounds to enhance the quality of the product. But remember Bisleri is not a mineral water brand instead it is a packaged drinking water producing brand with added minerals. Thus the brand Bisleri has taken some great steps to make our survival better in a whole new world.
